Sri Lanka's Defence Ministry asked the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) to relocate the entry/exit point at Omanthai to a place in Oddusudan, reports said. Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had told a state owned media that the request was made officially this week. "We made this request officially from the ICRC this week as we believe that there is no point of having the entry-exit point there in Omanthai as there are no LTTE presence in the Omanthai area at present," he has said. The request was made during discussions between Defence Secretary Rajapaksa and an ICRC delegation. Army Commander Sarath Fonseka was also present at the meeting. ”The ICRC also agreed with the point made by us and to find a suitable location to shift the Entry Exit point further north,” the Defence Secretary had said. Last week Sri Lanka Army cleared the LTTE defence line in Omanthai. It also said that Omanthai Entry Exit point will be shifted to the South of Oddusudan on the Nedunkerni – Oddusudan road.
